Haman Weir is the eco-friendly multipurpose weir with a motive in the wings of a big swan embracing the Nakdong River. Its total length is 549.3m and it consists of a 144m movable weir and a 405.3m fixed weir.
Especially it has utilized the space between the weir bridge and the water gates to create a gallery and an exhibition atrium. The Weir Bridge, or Arabit Bridge is 643.8m long and the small hydroelectric power plant can create 28,900,000kwh of electricity annually. A natural tier fishway and an Ice Harbor fishway are installed as well as a protected species habitat to preserve the ecosystem. Currently, the installation of rest facilities and tree planting in the Gilgok District are completed and the waterfront area construction is in progress.
On November 5, the opening of Haman Weir will be held with face painting and water bucket carrying activities as pre-events and various after-event programs such as congratulator y performance.
