Dream of the Ancient Gaya Come by Naru Port Restoration - Gangjeong Weir of the Nakdong Weir

Gangjeong Weir was the first in completion among the weirs in Gyeongsangdo region. As the ‘Center of the Ancient Gaya’, Gangjeong Weir is 953.5m long with a 833m movable weir and a 120m fixed weir. The weir bridge was made possible for the spectators’ field trips as well as for maintenance of the fixed weir and is connected to the bike paths on both sides of the stream. In addition, a trail in width of 1.1m is separately made to connect to the water-friendly facilities as a tour route satisfying five senses. Annual generating capacity of the small hydroelectric power plant is 13,400,000 kwh and next to the weir, an Ice Harbor fishway and a natural fishway were made. Near the Gangjeong Weir, the ancient Naru Port is restored with theme waterfront cultural areas.
