Then, it seems there is necessity of national project for efficient water resource management.
Egypt has carried out a project which shares the water of Nile with neighboring countries. We had participated in a Jonglei Project in Sudan (now the area became South Sudan). The project was considered one of the most important integration projects between Egypt and the Sudan with the primary objective of ensuring the flow of 4.7 billion cubic meters of the Nile water annually to be distributed between Egypt and the Sudan. Jonglei Canal Project in Southern Sudan, this was a very important project because the water was wasted evaporation. So we wanted to do the project with Sudan in order not to waste water and make it flow to Egypt and share the Nile water. Unfortunately, the political situation in southern Sudan we could not do that, because there were wars (civil war in Sudan). However, now South Sudan gained independence (9 July 2011). I think we can revive this project. We talk to the South Sudan government to renew and revive this project.
