With its open and close tests on August 31, everything has been prepared to welcome Hwangpo sailboats to come pass through the Juksan Weir. In case of the ship collision, the pads have been installed inside the lock chamber. Once the Juksan waterway opens, it will be connected to the tourist attractions near the area including the Naju Visual Display Theme Park, used as a mean to transport many tourists from all over the country. The movable weir of it is in total length of 184m and it had been extended by 24m from the original plan of 160m. It has improved the maintenance condition enabling the drainage of inner basin in times of the flood. The Watergate was selected to be the shell type roller gate for its easy maintenance, safety, and stunning appearance. Near the weir, the Ice Harbor fishway which has been approved of its new technology was installed for free movement routes for fish.
