Symbolized the General Gye-baek on horseback, the Baekje Weir was created in total length of 311m (a 120m movable weir, a 191m fixed weir) with a two-stage over-flow shell gate in the movable weir.
Because of that, not only the discharge rate can be easily adjusted to the occasion of floods but also two independent water gates make the sedimentation be washed away with no trouble.
is a symbol of Baekje culture as well. The shape of General Gye-baek on horseback, the last general of the Baekje Dynasty, is embodied by the Baekje Weir in Buyeo-gun, Chungcheongnam-do. Near the weir, you can see many historical sites such as Nakhwa-am, a cliff of falling flowers, representing the end of the Baekje Dynasty.
The opening ceremony in October 6, the celebratory performances were held by Choongnam Gukak Company. In addition, Baekje cultural festival and the Geum River Autumn Festival were held.
