They get water in the house from tap. The potable water in Egypt is safe. So people can drink from the tap. Of course, some people who are extra-cautious might go to shop to buy bottled water. Anyway, the tap water is safe.
As to international standard of water supply per capita, the acceptable level is one thousand liters, I think. We are below the line as 850. We are not so lower. We are just under a threshold of water poverty. That is not to say that it is hard to find water drink. It is a little below from the international minimum. As the population grows, there is a growing problem either. In future it can be even worse. So we have to start now to cope with it appropriately and to resolve it because it is serious.
