Seungchon Weir, which had been completed with the open and close test on August 15, has the most outstanding appearance among weirs of the Four Rivers. During the Chuseok, Korean Thanksgiving Day holiday, visitors who have visited the Seungchon Weir have been impressed by the outcome of Yeongsan River Project and expressed that the Seungchon Weir and Juksan Weir will become the trademark of the region. Seungchon Weir is in a total length of 512m (a 180m movable weir and a 320m fixed weir) and the movable weir has adopted the truss structured lifting gate.
This structure has excellent features in terms of maintenance since the inspection can be made on the surface of water. The weir bridge will be used as a bike path and Yeongsan River Bike Path Inspection group has already demonstrated it by sprinting with the bikes over the bridge on September 19. Near the area, habitats for the migratory birds were prepared and the waterfront forest and glassland communities were reserved to create the optimum ecological space.
On October 2 2 , a t radi t ional play festival will be held near Seungchon Weir with programs of Pungmulnori and Gangkang Suwollae as well as Nojeok Play and the Green Bike Festival will be held.
