Eight View of the Geum River

The most attractive thing among the eight views of the Geum River is the habitat for the migratory birds of the Geumgang Lake. This place will be created with ecological theme. Besides, the Geumgang Weir is planned to be specialized with theme of Baekjae cultural resources; the Buyeo Weir as Wangjin ferry and riparian area; Oknyeobong as green belt.

The Geum River is 'Silky River'. Like shaking silk out to loose, the silky waterway flows to wind huge curves with carving breathtaking scenic spots. Moreover, since the splendid legacy of Baekjae Dynasty is scattered along the river with leaving considerable significance. The Eight Views of the Geum River is redesigned on the deliberate consideration of harmony with Baekjae culture and regional natural beauty. While the 1st view is the sightseeing the group dance of countless migratory birds, the second view is the magnificent scene of swaying reeds in Sinseong-ri. The 3rdview is the Oknyeobong (the Oknyeo Peak) and Palgwaejeong (octagonal gazebo). The 4thview of wetland with Baekjae ruins including Nakhwaam and Goran Temple are connected to the Buyeo Weir and Wangjin ferry which are called as the 5thview. The 6th are 'Songlim Gunlak' (Pine tree colony), Gomnaru (Bearberry) and the Geumgang Weir. The 7thview is the Geumnam Weir, the symbol of Sejong City (Multifunctional Administrative City). The last one of the Eight Views is decorated by Hapgangjeong with its wide-ranged beautiful scenery as folding screen. Bike paths and walking trails are also created along the river.

The 1st view
Flocks of Baikal teals gathers in estuary of the Geum River, where is correspondent to the 1stconstruction site of the Geum.

The 2nd view
The Gilsan Stream, Seocheon, Chungnam Province, is known as lifeline as well as shelter for migratory birds. Especially in autumn, overgrown reeds present a grand sight.

The 3rd view
The reclaimed land seen from Oknyeobong in 3rdconstruction site of the Geum. This reclaimed land will be created as an open area with preserving existing ecosphere.

The 5th view
Wangjin ferry, upper stream of the Buyeo Weir. At the left side, Yeomi Park is going to be created.

The 6th view
Baekhwajeong (Gazebo of hundred falling flowers) was established in 1929 to cherish the legend of Baekjae's royal maids who throw themselves under the cliffs to death in the collapse of the Kingdom of Baekjae.
