The laity, 'The project is a far-sighted national policy.'

A conservative Christian group, 'Korea Future Forum' requested press interview in Korea Press Center on June 16 with lots of general laypersons of Buddhists, Protestants and Catholics with strenuously insisting that the Four Major Rivers Restoration Project is a far-sighted national policy so that it would continue. They underlined the project must go smoothly.

The representatives of the laity insisted by statement, "Some media are misleading public opinions. Minor insistence became to represent us as if it is the whole voice. Those media's manners are wrongfully going against our will." Continuously saying that, "Government promised that they will create 39 spots of ecological wetlands with habitats for fishes and bird, make diverse species of fishes swim in the four rivers freely through 'species proliferation and restoration project', can this be the destruction of ecosystem?" they ask back.

Water purifier facilities are designed to purify water stepwise, and by regularly opening underwater sluice, it will prevent sediments from being accumulated on riverbed. The laity refuted the insistence of environment groups that weir construction might affect to water decay.
