The manpower amount put to the Project breaks thru 10,000 per day average Up to 30,000 after second half

The effects of job creation triggered from the Four Major Rivers Restoration Project started to hit its stride in earnest. Since the beginning of the constructions, the manpower amount broke through 10,000 per day in average, reportedly by governmental research; it will increase up to 30,000 positions after second half. It was as many as 10,364 workers deployed to the construction sites of the Four Major Rivers Restoration Project according to the 'integrated project management system' aggregated by Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs. The workers of administrative position and technical post belong to the constructors are 2,166 persons, 388 construction supervisors, 4,369 heavy equipment controllers, and 3,441 technical skills are on the sites. Considering the completion rate is 13.9% in average (27.8% for weirs) and the facts that some sites not yet kicked off, the amount of daily workers will go up to 30,000 after June when all the sites run.

Even if we simply account the average payment per day as KRW 80,000, more than KRW 20,000 million per month of money will be release into the local economy. Especially, the data surveyed of manpower above was only calculated with only the 170 zones under controlled by Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs. That is, the actual effects of employment surely surpass it. Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs, initially in the presentation of the master plan, estimated the amount of job creation in the whole industrial field as 340,000(Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs: 231,142 / Ministry of Environment: 67,236 / Ministry of Agriculture: 40,098) with application of 'the coefficient of employment induction' (17.3 per 1000 million people) of 'Korea Bank'
