Eco repository to be around the Samhapni Isle on the Namhan River

Tiger lizard legally protected species (Grade 2) spotted.


The ecological specialist team who were requested from Korea Water Resources Corporation (CEO: KIM Gun-Ho) ascertained the inhabitation of 'Korean tiger lizard' (eremias argus) and 'Cheungcheung dunggeulae' (Polygonatum stenoohylum) which are the legally protected species as Grade 2. The expedition was fulfilled over around the Samhapni Isle on the Namhan River during April 23 to May 8. This ecological scrutiny was carried out as a part of the 'ex post facto' environmental effect investigation, according to the substance for consultation of 'environmental effects evaluation'. As to the two species above, the relevant bureau will establish basic protection measures. The Korea Water Resources Corporation plans to create this ecologically high worthy area as the 'eco-repository' of the Han River after consultation with relevant organizations and experts.
