Fish Road

Those who really welcome the Seungchon weir are fish. Fish's life line will be open. Along with improvement of water quality, near the Seungchon and Juksan weirs, two artificial watercourses 'Fish Road', each of which 4.2km and 1.9km long, connecting upper and lower streams of the weirs, are to be built. It is a good news for preservation and propagation of marine creatures.

The fish road to be built is limited to 20cm high for small fish to easily move. Previous fish roads were too high and useless for small fish. Degree of the road is 1:20 or higher, making movement easier. Structure and location of the fish road is advised by environmental effect analysis and ecological experts, to be located in where fish actually move.

Officials from the Office of National River Restoration said "If environment-friendly fish road is built, diverse marine creatures could move along it."
