Paraguayan government is planning national project using copious resources that river makes. It is the Paraguay-Parana waterway project (Hidrovia). Total 3000km-long waterway project will connect Argentine, Brazil, Bolivia, Uruguay and Paraguay. Amidst, it, 554km sector will be implemented by international bidding. That means foreign capital and enterprises can take part in the project with their fluvial development technologies.
