Sejong Weir - "First completion and test operation among the weirs"

Considering the site of the Sejong Weir had almost completed its process as of July 22, the air of the place gave even tranquil mood. As long as there would be no problem about the construction, all the process will be done by end of July. The Sejong Weir was given shape from the flowing wave of the Geum River with bestowal of symbolism from Sejong City (planned to be an administrative complex). In design aspect, swallow, the symbol of Yeonngi County, and wave of the Geum River were instilled as a pattern so to present a harmony of culture and nature. Total length is 348m (movable sector – 223m, static sector – 125m). It finished first phase of construction last year and test operation in maneuverability of floodgates under spotlights of media. The Sejong Weir is capable of adjusting water level for precise water control and securing abundant water. It has a function of discharge bottom water to prevent water quality from deteriorating.

Ecostream creation is in progress with schedule of completion to the end of September. There are also diverse waterfront area; Yongho-ri Bomnae Park (artificial wetland of the Miho Stream, Geonngang Madang, Geonngang Naru, Ogamwon with Gangsan Park holding the Hapgangjeong Gazebo, the 8th of the Eight View of the Geum River), Wolsan-ri Hannarae Park with wetland preserve, Hangeul Park in Bonggi-ri and marina wharf. Additionally, a bike trail of 28.8km length which circulates the pedestrian bridge in Daegyo Stream and Botong-ri (Nam-myeon) in Miho Stream is under active construction at present.

July 6 of last year 2010, the Sejong Weir had successfully fulfilled test operation for maneuverability of movable floodgate as the first one among all the weirs of Project.
