Gangcheon Weir - "Another world reflect on river water of Namhan River"
The Gangcheon Weir is located in the middle of Chungju Dam and Paldang Dam, which is responsible in alleviating inundation damage as well as securing water available for use. It was designed after soaring egret and elegant lugsail. You would see the scenery that lugsail boats float peacefully in front of the Gangcheon Weir. Movable part (350m) and static part (90m) with seven floodgates consist of the weir. As of July 24, floodgates installation work is on the process. And it will be finished in mid-August and take test operation until mid-September. Riparian area with seven themes and 26km bike trail around the weir are under finishing phase for completion by the end of September. Among them, Gangcheon Isle will be decorated a must-visit course. In there, you would see copious versions of natural roads: flame grass road, poplar wood, magnolia road, ginkgo tree road, chrysanthemum road, wild flower grassland, birch wood, zelkova wood and cherry blossom road as well as Danyang Ssukbujaengi (sort of aster helophyllus) habitat.
