1000-plus-residents of Gyeongbuk Province, suggested “Ceaseless pushing ahead of the Project” in the Nakdong River

Around 1000 people from Gyeongbuk Province including 11 wards within the Nakdong Restoration Project hold a resolution rally to strongly suggest ceaseless pushing ahead of the Project in front of Yeouido Square in front of the National Assembly building in Seoul at 14:00, November 24, 2010.

Headquarter of Nakdong River Revitalization said that the Four Major Rivers Restoration Project is essential for resolving chronic bipolar problems of inundation disaster and severe drought and the project is directly linked to the improvement of the quality of life. They also underlined that some local municipalities and eco-movement groups are against the project, however, that is again the will of the major portion of Gyeongbuk Province’s residents who lives by the Nakdong River. Moreover, the interruption at this moment cannot be happened. They urged strong drive for the project to the government and National Assembly’s budget support.
