The Four Major Rivers Restoration Project is the initiative policy to relieve the climate change

The 5th International policy Forum (IPF) hosted by the Ministry of Environment and UNESCAP (United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific) was held in Muju Resort, Jeonbuk Province in July 5th to 7th, 2010. In this forum, held under the subject of 'Urban development and National Strategy for Green Growth', many officials and VIP's including Minister of Environment from Kazakhstan and many other Asian countries as well as from International organizations.

The subject of forum was how to establish the infrastructure for building effective green city and sharing each countries experience for planning sustainable green city. In the forum, Mr. SONG Jae-Yong, Director of Water Quality and Environment, the Office of National River Restoration, presented about the Four Major Rivers Restoration Project as an initiative to relieve the climate change. The attendees paid attention to the dynamic countermeasures against climate change, which is pursued by the Four Major Rivers Restoration Project of Korea.
