Environmental Assessments

The four major rivers restoration project is being pursued in accordance with due process as stipulated in applicable laws and regulations and in full consideration of the project's impact on the environment, its legitimacy, and its compliance with the river act.

Evaluations are supervised by an environmental assessment committee consisting of local public service employees, environmental policy assessment researchers, and regional specialists from local environmental agencies.

The committee provides technological inspection and advice for all procedures, from planning to preparation, and consultation on environmental assessments.

A scoping committee determines major evaluation items and inspection parameters prior to preparation of the environmental impact assessment by considering local conditions and the scope of each project.

The scientific data gathered from the evaluations is managed through information support systems for geographical and environmental statistics.
