At the bidding of the 2nd turnkey contractors for the 4 major rivers restoration project, contractors for 5 sites were selected; Geum River site 1 (Kyeryong construction consortium), Geum river site 5 (Korea development consortium), Nakdong river site 17 (Hanjin heavy industry consortium), Nakdong river site 25 (Samhwan industry consortium), Nakdong River site 31 (Hanhwa construction consortium).
Average rate of successful bid of the 5 sites was 70.38%, and government budget of $ 200million(USD) was saved. The Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs will increase the number of inspectors and operate a quality safety control bureau to prevent poor construction due to lower bidding price.
