The Ministry of Land,Transport and Maritime Affairs (MLTM) announced to devise maintenance plan for local streams for water management, environmentand culture for 11,302 km long local streams and to execute the plan from nextyear, on February 15. The plan is renovated version of 'stream disaster prevention project' which had been executed from 1999, and is a large scale stream maintenance project with 1.8 trillion won budget by 2018.
MLTM explained that "local streams' flood prevention is necessary as the four rivers, so the local stream maintenance plan's budget previous planned will be increased by 120 billion won to secure 611.9 billion won budget."
