The 1st prize at on-line reservoir exhibition

At an on-line weir exhibition hosted by the Office of National River Restoration, Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs from October 28, 2009 to November 26, 2009, the Ipo weir won the 1st prize among 16 reservoirs and was favorably commented upon the excellence of their design and overall structure.

We especially paid attention to a 500m-long and 3~5m-wide natural fish way to be positioned at the right side of the weir. The fish way at Ipo weir has the gentlest slope(1,300mm) in the country which creates an environment for fish to swim between the upstream and the downstream. And the entrance and the exit of the fish way will be made with different depths so as to make water flow into the fish way in dry season.

Currently the construction is going on faster than the plan. Construction of the dike was completed in the past January and construction of the structure is in progress. The construction is divided into 2 stages. The first stage is planned to be completed before June this year, and the second stage before June 2011.
