The first completion ceremony of the mounding work which is a part of the project was open at the Hanngye Reservoir, Cheongwon County, Chungbuk Province. At the ceremony, there were diverse events including unveiling of monument stone statue, stone masonry ceremony hoping wishes, the release of endemic species and medical examination for local villagers. This undertaking invested with KRW 12.2 million raised up the embankment 2.4 meter higher, and expanded the capacity of water retention up to 1.5 million ton (increased from the previous 0.94 million tons). It eventually contributed to prevention of dry stream, water quality improvement and ecosystem restoration. In particular, thanks to the increased convenient facilities around the reservoir like ecopark, it is expected more recreational activities, which will lead to rural residents' income increase from vivid social exchanges between urban and rural communities.
