Mr. Inaki Duque, Head of Communication and External Relations. BILBAO Ria 2000, presented detailed steps how Bilbao city was reborn as international tourist attraction at presence to ‘International Forum on Developing the Green Waterfront Belt of Nakdong River’ in October 28, 2010. Bilbao was tantamount to almost ruin because of huge flood of the Nervion River. However, out of ambitious urban renewal program, the city had successfully transformed into world famous tourism attraction. Especially, the Guggenheim Museum of Bilbao which became a landmark of the city makes equivalent to KRW 200 billion a year and 4,000 employment effect. Mr. Duque added with short memory of difficult bygone days for having had persuaded the city renewal project. “At the beginning of the urban regeneration project, we had to confront with thousand of difficulties and oppositions. If you keep going on with conviction, you’ll get unexpected success at last.”
