Restored nature is added to its intact state. Wetlands and sandbars which are worthy of preservation in its original form will be kept in its original state, while contaminated or damaged wetlands will be restored through ecological recovery process. Our nature is about to be reborn in affluence.
The best way to make rivers adorned as it to be is to recover its nature. Therefore, 94% of around rivers will be created as ecological shore protection. We will use not concrete but natural stones for building embankments with autochthonous aquatic plants. The 5.8% among the rest 6% will be created in ecological bloc and environment-friendly vegetation, the 0.2% of pure concrete portion will be used in inevitable cases for preventing the loss of river when it inundates.
Around our rivers, there are many wetlands provide shelters for plants and animals as well as beautiful scenery. These natural gifts of wetlands will be preserved as long as they do not block the flow of streams. Besides, total 39 wetlands will be added; on the junctions of the Four Rivers and their tributaries meet, we plan to add 27 tributary-type wetland; on the shallow riverside area, 3 places of open-type wetlands; and 9 purifier-type wetland which function as purifier for contaminants.
Environment-friendly fish ways are to be installed to help fishes and diverse aquatic species. Along the fish ways, you will see carps surging up for reaching to their spawning ground and many freshwater fishes like Kkuguri and trout which lives only in pure water.
