In July 5th of 2010, 54 teams (195 members) of University students supporters (for the Four Major Rivers Restoration Project) entered their official activities after having welcoming ceremony under participation of Ms. CHA Yoon-Jeong, Head of Department of Environment, the Office of National River Restoration in the assembly hall of K-Water (Korea Water Resources Corporation) in Daejeon. The Office of National River Restoration and K-Water recruited supporters, targeting university students with the basin areas of the four rivers as centered from the beginning of June to 20th. Among them, final 195 were selected. The university students are scheduled to do expedition, street promotion, and internet blog activity, with grouping team of 3 to 4 persons on each team until November this year. In case of being selected as a member of 'activity teams', opportunity of 'experience backpack tour program to the world' would be given to the whole team members; when selected.
Meanwhile, these students' supporters visited the Taehwa River, Ulsan, experienced beforehand the future of river restoration project and how beautiful can it be afterwards. Looking around the Riverside Bamboo Paths, the Taehwa River Observatory and habitat of migratory birds which is connected with crystal clean and abundant water way, they couldn't hide pleasant surprises, "This (Taehwa) River was really once dead river in the past?", "The four rivers can be changed like Taehwa River?" They continued questions with surprise.
