Securing water resource is definitely national duty of no choice

By the time many countries' representatives got together for the international observance of 'World Water Day' in last March, meanwhile in Korea, commotions became grow up by some religionists' join into opposition rally against the Four Rivers Restoration Project. Those commotions, to me, brought up the image of the historic scene about the stern opposition appeal of CHOI Man-Ri (scholar, dignitary in 15C) against the King Sejong's great invention of HanGeul intended people's enlightenment. Especially, it is difficult to understand that considerable portion of the dissenters against the project is 20's.

During almost 30 years in Africa and Southeastern Asian countries, my family and I had to carry expensive bottled waters by air from Europe. The places were also had rainfall, but out of lack of water reservoir facilities and contaminated underground water, we had no way to obtain natural clean water to consume for ourselves.

The Four Major Rivers Restoration Project, as long as I know, takes the following as main purpose: the water control, water quality management, harmonization among human and rivers, and beautification of riparian areas. Taking this opportunity of the project, therefore, I hope that water control management would be more systematically carried on and public consciousness for water goes further in consolidation.
